Gary Bedore of the KC Star is reporting that Dooley is returning to be the recruiting coordinator.

Speculation on another site that Dooley comes back knowing Self’s system inside and out, and has head coaching experience. He would be the interim HC when Self gets suspension.
And, he would handle recruiting if Self and Townsend can’t recruit.
Or, he’s taking care of his friend.
Things are getting VERY. Interesting.

Interesting that there is no mention of his leading recruiting for the program, as was initially reported last week.
