Hard work, dedication and the right mentoring pays off. Be it, BB players, regular students, electrician/plumber , or the person who mows your lawn. Do it right and listen to the people that can help you succeed. Ochai and Christian and their family got it. DMac will be an executive of some kind in the future. Lightfoot will be a heck of a coach. Remy will probably make a mint in the Philippines. Each displayed what it takes to be successful. Time for the next group to step up.

"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot
A little disappointed that my own number wasn't called. That makes 32 years in a row where I've been mysteriously overlooked. I guess that intermural game against Sigma Nu where I had 27 points and 18 rebounds means absolutely NOTHING to this misguided NBA officials.
Nevertheless, I'm over the moon for Ochai and Christian. They deserve it, and certainly earned it. Bot represented KU fantastically and I wish them nothing but success.
As the world's worst judge of NBA talent, I'm a little surprised that a guy like D-Mac holds no value for the NBA. Then again, maybe he'll play some G-league and eventually get a sniff at a roster in the big league. Luckily for him, he seems to have a strong work ethic, great personality, and is clearly a smart dude, so I'm sure he'll find success in or out of basketball.
Remy was never an NBA guy, but it sure was fun having him around. I concur that he'll likely go make a nice living playing overseas.
Finally there's Mitch. Can we just go ahead and offer ANY kind of job to stay at KU?

Congrats to both Ochai and Christian!
I think Christian going at #21 was pretty cool to see as it was higher (I think) than most expected him to go.
This was a profile (i.e. scouting report) of him leading up to the draft by the team who happened to pick him (Denver).
