I get how $400,000 per year for two years linked to transferring and paid for by a rich alum seems a shock to the system for an organization that has chased athletes getting plane tickets and use of cars like the crimes of the century.
Of course they could have issued some guidance, limits , max payments, structure or deferred payments.

Instead they stick the head in the sand and finally emerge muttering about the evil "boosters."
Boosters are not going to become irrelevant' the NCAA seems unable to adapt in time to avoid irrelevancy.

The NCAA actually set up a committee to figure out how to manage NIL once the court decision was made that athletes were entitled to compensation for their use. Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby was on it. The committee recommendations were totally ignored by the NCAA. And now we have the world today.

Hard for me to get upset about the NCAA once again unequivocally demonstrating its incompetence in overseeing college athletics.

Waiting for Emmert's replacement (whoever wants the job) to get on board so he can leave.

It seems that under Emmert the NCAA was all about making as much money for the NCAA as they could. His positions were always about the NCAA making more money whether it was anti athlete compensation or not punishing schools with the highest merchandising revenue.
