Hot transfer portal entry Baylor Scheierman of South Dakota State is going home to Nebraska — the state, not the school.

Creighton bound, and the Jays look to be AP Top 5 next year and a legitimate NC contender.

JayhawkSlant poster JohnDouglas1 posts that according to the scuttlebutt (internet) KANSAS got involved but backed out after driving up his NIL price. His agent (the same guy who represents Pack) wanted the most money, but he apparently wanted to play at Creighton, who wasn’t offering close to the NIL money he was getting offered.

ESPN: Baylor Scheierman, No. 4 in ESPN's college basketball transfer rankings, commits to Creighton Bluejays

So KU did not get much love from Baylor...sounds about right :)

In the article that HE linked up about Scheierman, this quote stood out to me:

"It's actually funny because there was information getting out that, like, I was demanding this and that," Scheierman said. "In all reality, I knew NIL was gonna be a part of it, but I told my parents at the beginning of the process that if I'm going back to school, I'm doing this to ultimately put myself in a better position for my pro aspirations."

I first thought that it's pretty cool that he's not being motivated by NIL money and therefore passing on the immediate windfall...and that he's just going to a local school that he thinks best fits him and will allow him to to maximize his abilities.

While that is true, he seemed to imply that he picked Creighton b/c he felt they would be his best bet to get to the NBA. So in the end, it was still a kind of $ motivated decision...which of course is not a bad thing...and I guess it's nice that he is thinking about his future.
