ESPN: NCAA President Emmert stepping down

Last year his contract had been extended to 2005. Now he will be gone by June 30. 2023 or as soon as his replacement is hired, whichever comes first,

Tomorrow would not be too soon for this KANSAS alum.

Given the NCAA’s record in expediting matters, he'll probably step down June 2023 with no replacement hired yet.

I will always be convinced that Bill Self and the Kansas City Jayhawks winning the Men’s hoops title did him in.

Serendipity and synchronicity… with a little “just desserts” tossed in for good measure.

Be sure to watch the video with the Finebaum commentary. I’m not a fan of his, but “credit to him for telling it like it is, Don.”

Buh-bye. NIL combined with the transfer portal is a true nightmare. Guys are now considering transferring for purely financial reasons. How this doesn't make recruiting a "to the highest bidder" situation combined with no salary cap and complete free agency I'll never know.

Glad we're riding high for the moment, because if we weren't we could easily find ourselves on the wrong side of the talent gap.

Something needs to be changed, and Emmert certainly wasn't the guy to do it.

His gaff in calling KU, University of Kansas City may have helped his demise, but I will be a little more generous. I suspect from his facial features etc. that he is showing signs of either Parkinson's or dementia of some kind. If that is the case, I hope people will forgive me when my time comes.

PS. Putin is well into Parkinson's and may be one reason for his stupidity re. Ukraine but I will not be so generous with my forgiveness in his case (apologies for bringing politics to a BB site).

You're not suggesting Putin take over the NCAA are you? ;)
