There were a few times when a KU player drove the ball and wound up pitching it out to Dajuan who was standing beyond the three-point line. He pump faked each time, but never put up a shot from beyond the arc. I was thinking/hoping he'd attempt at least one. Do you think it was hesitation on his part or that it was by design?
Obviously our guys won today to make it to the Final 4 and looked good doing so it may not even matter, but he's been a decent 3-point shooter this year so I thought taking (and hopefully making) one or two would help keep the defense honest. And that situation could present itself against Villanova.

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
I refer to DaJuan as a Hippocratic point guard. He is keenly focused on doing no harm. That focus Carries over into his decision to shoot. He virtually never shoots early in the shot clock assuming the team will always find a better shot selection. Not a bad way to be and has its great advantages mostly in that he makes few mistakes. The obvious downside is it is probably not the ideal strategy when playing from behind. It obviously meshes well with this team since he is surrounded by 4 decent offense options. And if we know anything about Self’s strategy it is 1st, score in transition and 2nd, when forced into half-court offense GET A QUALITY SHOT. DaJuan is laser focused on that goal but tends to feel like the quality shot has to come from one of the other 4 guys.

I would agree that for this team to reach it's potential he needs to take and make that wide open 3. He is not someone we want taking contested 3s but when the other team leaves him wide open he needs to make them pay.
