I also enjoyed KU holding up the start of the next game...especially a Duke/UNC game. ESPN must have been so annoyed that our game went into OT.

But I have to ask -- who the hell were those other teams, anyway?
Anyone we should worry about?
Port -- oh, man, I am so with you. At the time I was telling konza63 that one good thing we could take away from our OT was that it would keep puke and the tarred heels somewhere else.
I found it ironic that the seemingly spiteful ESPN powers-that-be chose to show the tarred heels at puke over their scheduled fare of Baylor hosting ISU until the tu @ KU game was finally over. Were they getting back at the Big 12 for interrupting their K orgy?
I mean gee, Baylor was only having to win the game to secure a share of it's second straight Big 12 regular season title.
And I truly enjoyed Hubert's Heels beating Krybaby K's kids in the last home game of Kfhqwzxvklzwfi's career,
(And I am so glad that after this season I will no longer have to deal with Army (USMA) grads who are faux Puke fans because USMA grad K was the Puke coach.)
I know Roy is is smiling tonight.
Good for him.
(I don't give a shite about The Traitor Smith. )

I agree, gorillahawk, but I must protest the use of "Coach Kringle".
To slight such a generous and well loved international hero by any association to the slimebag, pissyfaced (and actions) Coach Krassness is a true and heart rendering slam on the good name and character of Kringle.
And a note of warning -- if you know your Kringle lore, he may just be Odin Allfather in a more modern guise for modern times.
A word to the wise is sufficient...

Kudos to you and l’ll just say everyone has a reason for their reaction to K/Puke and there is merit in that.

Kansas and Texas were locked in a battle that would decide whether or not KU earned at least a share of the Big 12 title. That game is what everyone watching from the beginning tuned in to ESPN to see.
For at least half of the airtime (it seemed to be at least that to me, anyway) viewers were subjected to yadda yadda yadda about K instead of the game. The network went so far as to split-screen images of K during critical moments of the Texas-Kansas game.
Unacceptable.
I am all for anyone who wants to do so celebrating K’s career.
I do not choose to, and having it forcefed to me ad nauseum does not in the slightest improve the likelihood that I will change my mind. Not letting KU fans - or any other fans of any other team - be able to focus on their team’s battle for the conference title by continually hyping the already most overhyped event of the year and the decade to date — THAT is no respect.
And to show further ESPN disrespect for the Big 12…
When our game went to OT and UNC @Duke started up, the ESPN powers-that-be opted to interrupt their regular ESPN2 programming - ISU @Baylor, with Baylor needing to win if Kansas did if the Bears were to earn a share of the title - to show the start of the UNC-Duke game.
To the best of my knowledge since going to the multiple networks and the app they have not done that before. But the hell with Baylor and the Big 12, we’re talking about Duke!
No respect.
If those folks have yet to figure out how to program for such a special event - like start it a half-hour later to allow for a lead-in show both further hyping the event AND allowing for the possibility of an OT game in the lead-in contest (because *that* never happens) - then they need to go find work elsewhere.
So EXCUSE ME if I’ve had enough of the slobberfest and was - and still am - irritated about being forced to endure it in order to try to enjoy *my* team play ball.
K is the greatest men’s college hoops coach of the modern era (1975 on).
I respect his accomplishments.
Doesn’t mean I care to participate in honoring him, as I do not respect him.
