But the other 3 are very much in it still.
KANSAS’ MAGIC NUMBER is 2
Any 2 KU wins or
combination of KU wins and Baylor losses AND KU wins and Tech losses each equal to 2
and KU has at least a share of the Big 12 title for AY2021-22.
GAMES LEFT
KANSAS (12-2)
BU @Waco
TCU @Ft Worth
AFH v TCU
AFH v tu
TECH (11-4) has a relative cakewalk for its last 3 games:
TCU @ Fort Worth
vs KState
OKSt @Stillwater
BAYLOR(11-4)
vs KANSAS
tu @Austin
vs ISU
IF KANSAS BEATS BU THIS SATURDAY, KANSAS magic number becomes 1 with 3 games to go. BU must win its last 2 and hope KU loses its last 3 and Tech loses at least one more game in order for BU to have at least a share of the title.
IF KANSAS LOSES TO BU THIS SATURDAY, KU needs to win 2 of its last 3 games to guarantee at least a share of the title.
With KU playing BU and tu and BU playing KANSAS and tu, IMO Tech, with its favorable schedule, is the best positioned to catch KU.
But if KU wins them all, they don’t have to worry about who else does what.
So WIN 'EM ALL, KANSAS!
ROCK CHALK! JAYHAWK! KU!

Kansas (12-2) faces Baylor (11-4) next and it's particularly important for Baylor. In fact, it's a "must win" for them.
If KU wins, KU will be 13-2 and Baylor will be 11-5. With only 2 games left, the best Baylor could hope for is 13-5. KU would have to lose all 3 of its remaining games for Baylor to get a share of a 13-win tie with KU.
All that said, the magic number is 2. We need to go at least .500 over the next 4 games to wrap it all up.
It's ours to lose. I really want to beat Baylor in their gym on Saturday.
