1. The KU players looked jaded and exhausted towards the end of the game. Not having Remy and JCL to relieve starters definitely impacted the game both early and late. May be it is also that part of the season.
2. These Saturday/Monday games take their toll. Since KU provides prime TV exposure, I think we get scheduled for more of those than other teams in conference, together with Texas and Baylor. Not sure how we will handle 4 games in 8 days at the end of the regular season. Hope all players are healthy.
2. DMac was really struggling, health wise. I think his foot injury is probably more serious than has been acknowledged. He has trouble jumping off one of his feet. Could even see that in warmups. I think Self is pushing to get Clemence to get ready. Basically he needs the height and freshness. Although he could put up more strength and muscle, you can see a difference between now and the beginning of the season.
3. I think the mental and physical toll is also affecting our 3-point shooting and free throws especially late in games. Could account for the finish of the both the Texas and OU games.

Just some thoughts and observations from one in attendance.

--Thanks for your observations, Hoshi. I followed the game on internet, with KU audio. With KU up 68-42 at the 10:11 mark. I shut it off. When saw the 76-62 final this morning, I thought sure that HCBS had put in all subs for the last 10 minutes. When looked at the box, saw much to my horror that he hardly subbed at all. Only Yesufu had 22 minutes. Zach 9, Mitch 3, KJ 3, Bobby (all-world) 1. Sorry, that makes zero sense to me.

I don't think we played as poorly as the last 10-15 minutes appeared. The game was over, and both teams knew it. OSU was listless, and our guys shut the engine down to idle. OSU then made some shots that they weren't making previously, I think in large part to our reduced defensive pressure. They had some threes, and their really tall kid got 3 or 4 rebound dunks. They cut into the lead enough that Self had to keep our guys out there a little longer than he probably wanted to, but I never felt like the game was even close to being at risk.

Our guys have to get rest whenever and wherever they can, and they did so while still playing most of the second half. I don't see it as anything other than all the players getting bored and just going thru the motions in a game that was already over.

I was fortunate enough to watch the game on tv. I am not as observant as some others but I am willing to say what things looked like to me. I agree that the Saturday to Monday turn around can be hard on the players especially late in the season. I thought the players looked lethargic even though they were trying hard. I think the extra days off before next game will be good. I do not think Mr. McCormack gets enough credit for how hard he works on the offensive boards. Mr Harris took advantage of the OSU team daring him to shoot. Mr Agbaji was 1 of 6 from 3 and still did so much of value for the team. 20 points 7 rebounds 4 assists 3 steals. I also think Mr Braun and Mr. Wilson did not have particularly good games but they did not play bad. On the defensive end the Hawks need to do a better job having the 3rd defender help on the big rolling to the post on the pick and roll. The defensive switch is rarely leading to uncovered players which is due to great communication on the court on the defensive end.
