“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
The boys played their butts off against the 1973 Broad Street Bullies (Philadelphia Flyers) in a hockey brawl.
We could’ve and should’ve gone up 76-70 if Braun and Dave - our best shooters at the line - hit their freaking free throws. Gave Texas life and they hit a banked-in 3. Ballgame.
PS: the refs absolutely SUCKED. Just a horribly-called game.

The two guys missing late free throws, then Ochai's pass that hits the rim, followed by Harris losing the ball on the drive hurt. But then you remember their banked in three pointer. Ouch. But don't forget we had a tie game and the ball with 38 seconds left in the first half and gave up five quick points. We didn't execute well at key times. Period. But against one of the better defenses, we scored. Tough loss, but we're still in first!

KU has outplayed Texas in Austin the last 2 years but can’t close out the deal, absolutely frustrating loss. It was a nightmare having to listen to all the UT fans crow about winning 3 games in a row. Game was the definition of being punked, Refs could have called UT for a foul each time. Can’t believe Ku shot 58% and found a way to lose it because of FT’s that is just bad…losses like are just flat out disappointing because they shouldn’t happen.

I am still attempting to digest the last 38 seconds of the first half and last 1:04 of the second = 1:42 where we were out scored 12-0, had three TO’s and a foul. That is difficult to do. I watched it and still don't believe what I saw.
Here’s to a great game Saturday.

Must’ve been channeling their inner Chiefs, as the latter performed in the AFC Championship.
