It was a pretty ugly half. The Hawks had 16 first half turn overs. I could say that many of them were unforced but I think the high pressure of ISU defense made them feel pressured all the time. It was a disappointing half for Mr Wilson. 4 TO and 0 points. Mr. Harris made some nice steals and made his layups. Mr.(s) McCormack and Braun both played pretty well. Mr. Yesufu was solid in his time on the floor and Mr Coleman-Lands made shots. They will need to play better in the second half as ISU shot poorly in the first half..
ISU did shoot better in the second half but the Hawks did play better. Fewer turnovers and better defense. It is not going to show up in the stat sheet but I thought Mr Yesufu played very well and was a difference maker in the game. Whether it was passing the ball ahead when the Hawks gained possession or strong on ball defense he was effective on both ends of the floor. If he can shoot the 3 more consistent he will help even more.
It showed up in the player rating, hairy. Yesufu had a very good player rating. Harris had his best game as a Jayhawk. He was amazing. And David had his 2nd best game of the season. Jalen’s 2nd half was stellar, 1st half not so much. Christian continues to struggle. Struggling for Christian means he is still contributing but not to his ceiling. He played significantly better in non-conference, I’ll post the player ratings a little later.
