Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
Some significant games last night.
1. Auburn defeated previously undefeated LSU by 15 points. That game was the marquee matchup of the year based on the DPPI. Auburn is now 3rd in the DPPI and LSU is 4th.
2. That leaves 4 remaining undefeated teams, Baylor (2nd), Iowa St. (26th), Colorado St. (24th) and USC (18th). Baylor and Iowa St. are scheduled to play Saturday.
3. KU's 28 point win against Nevada moves them up to 5th in the DPPI but it is really really tight at the top. 1 point separates the top 7 teams.
4. KU 2nd in offensive efficiency and 8th in defensive efficiency. PPP offense against Nevada was 1.156 (pretty good) and defense was 0.803 PPP (very good).
5. In another top 20 matchup, Alabama (17th) surged to defeat Tennessee (9th) by 5. The top 10 teams have a combined 13 losses. Alabama has defeated 3 top 10 teams. No one else has more than 1 win against top 10 teams.
6. No games of any great significance until Saturday.
7. KU extends their probabilistic lead for the Big 12 See the table and chart below.
8. KU's bench has fallen on hard times. Jalen had a decent stat line but his +/- was -3 in 21.0 minutes. That is no bueno. KJ actually had a strong +/- and is the only bench player who seemed to play into the team. He is going to be a really great player in years to come. I'll post the +/- in another thread but I'll show you the player ratings here. You will see that the starters all had stellar games. Just as a reminder, the little Jayhawk represents what a player should do for the team to perform at a top 5-10 level. Every starter wildly exceeded that which is amazing and great. But as great as the starters were, the bench was equally bad.
9. With non-conference play winding down, the Big 12 incrementally expanded it's lead as the best conference in the land (in a runaway).

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
Great stuff, Corpus. thanks!
