There have been a lot of games since the last update, just none played by KU. But lots of things can change anyway. So here it goes.

1. Kansas falls from 4th to 5th in the DPPI. Houston passes them ever so slightly.
2. KU is 2nd in offensive efficiency (Arizona 1st) and 20th in defensive efficiency (LSU 1st) as per the DPPI. Right now KU is rated 5th best defense in the Big 12 (Baylor (2nd), Texas (6th), Iowa St. (10th), West Virginia (15th).
3. KU SOS ranked 36th.
4. Alabama's loss to Davidson drops them all the way to 22nd. (ouch) They were as high as 4th. To their credit, they have played the 2nd rated SOS.
5. Tennessee's win over No. 1 ranked Arizona lands them in 7th. That was a good win.
6. Speaking of Arizona, their loss to Tennessee leaves only 5 undefeated teams. They are Baylor (2nd), LSU (3rd), USC (13th), Iowa St. (26th) and Colorado St. (28th). Arizona still holds a very very slim lead over Baylor for 1st in the DPPI.
7. UNC lost to Kentucky which dropped them back to 36th. They were making a move and on the verge of breaking back into the top 25. No Longer.
8. Kentucky's dominant win over UNC moved them up to 16th. They seem to be improving. They very well could be a top 10 team when KU meets them in January.
9. Memphis is the Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde of the NCAA. They are loaded with talent and started out the season with 5 wins. Then they lost 4 in a row and 2 of them were really bad losses. Then they defeat top 10 Alabama. Go figure. Alabama is falling precipitously right now. Memphis still only in 43rd.
10. Speaking of dropping like a rock, Villanova had a rough patch against Baylor (lose by 21) and Ceighton (lose by 20) before they had a nice win against a very good Xavier team. They had eased into the top 10 and now they are back down to 14.
11. The Big 12 continues to dominate and the Big Ten is starting to solidify its grip on 2nd. The ACC still in last. The Big 12 would win 61.3% of its games in a round-robin compared to 55.1% for the Big 10 and 39.8% for the ACC. The Big 12 has won 85.7% of its non-conf games. The Big Ten is 2nd at 76.6%.
12. No games of consequence until next Tuesday and nothing too significant until Wednesday.
13. Baylor currently favored to win the Big 12 at 13.7 projected wins, 43.3% outright championship and 59% with a tie. Kansas 2nd at 13.4 wins, 34.4% outright and 49.9% with at tie. Texas is third at only 9.8 wins. It looks like a two team race at this point.
14. Coach Self said Ochai probably the MVP thus far. With all due respect I humbly disagree. Christian leads in the player rating by a pretty substantial margin. Both are having great years and both are playing really well. But for my money, Christian is the MVP thus far.
15. Speaking of player performance, Mitch has exceeded my expectations. In 10 games he has had 2 real stinkers, 1 pretty bad game and 1 so-so game. The other 6 he has played really well. He played really well in the last game against SFA.
16. Kansas leads the Big 12 in consistency ranked 109th in the country. The Big 12 teams have not been very consistent. Iowa St. is ranked 345 and Oklahoma is ranked 313rd and Texas Tech is ranked 293rd. Even Baylor is ranked 230th.
