We basically had 5 guys who were ready to play against North Texas and that was enough. Those 5 guys all played really well. Other than that it was pretty much not good. McCormack's rating appears to not be too bad compared to his projected expectation, but bear in mind, the projected expectation is a sliding scale based on minutes, so a player that plays 13 minutes is expected to have a lower rating per minute than a player that plays 35 minutes. If McCormack had played 30 minutes at the same level he played for the 13 minutes his total rating would have been well below the expectation. Also, 33% of the rating comes from the +/- so a player gets the benefit of a good +/- while he is in the game even if he plays apparently poorly. Afterall, it is a team sport and the team performance in outscoring the opponent is a very significant factor. Dajuan had another lackluster game making it three of 4 games. The entire bench with the obvious exception of Jalen Wilson and Mitch Lightfoot were dismal. This game was won on the back of a great performance by Remy and strong performances by Christian, Mitch, Ochai and Jalen. That's okay against a mediocre opponent like UNT but we need the bench to be better and if Dajuan is going to continue to get minutes he needs to play significantly better.
Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
