What Bill Self has accomplished since he arrived in Lawrence 19+ seasons ago is really quite amazing. Here are just metrics that show just how elite KU has been. To be fair, the elite of the elite is a 2 team race between Kansas and Duke. No doubt that UNC, Kentucky and a few others have been elite. But KU and Duke are clearly the elite of the elite. The first table is the total weeks in the AP Poll since the beginning of the 2004 season. The "Points" column is the total number of points where 1st place is 25 points, 2nd place is 24 points etc. The 2nd table is total Div 2 wins since the beginning of the 2004 season. I have also included the SOS to show that Gonzaga has won three more games than KU but has played a far far far far weaker SOS. Incidentally, KU has the highest overall SOS since 2004. UNC is 2nd, Duke is 3rd and Michigan St. is 4th. This is simply amazing.

Amazing stuff, Don!

Of note: KU has won 35 more games than UNC during that time, and 40 more than Kentucky.

Too bad we didn't get the chance to win another crown 2 years ago, due to COVID, when we were the dominant team in the land. Sure would be grand to win the NC this year!

Thanks! Really like your statics! You can really massage those numbers and there is really no argument against the conclusions!

I believe though even without the numbers, we all know KU is Elite!
