No big surprises other than the offense was most effective when Prison Mitch was on the floor. The Jayhawks had a PPM of 2.3 with Mitch on the floor. Pettiford was next at 2.29 and Ochai at 2.25. McCormack brought up the rear at a significantly lower 1.95. When he is in the game he tends to be the focus on offense and when he is ineffective like last night the team offensive efficiency suffers. Pettiford played only 11.4 minutes but the KU defense was stifling when he was in the game allowing only 1.23 PPM. Compare that to a team high 1.99 when Harris was on the floor. Overall,Pettiford had by far the highest delta (this is like PPM over replacement) of 1.02. Harris was by far the low at 1.52. Just as a reminder, the plus minus is a fun stat but can be highly skewed if a player plays over 32 minutes or under 8. Over a season it tends to be a good stat but in any single game it can be pretty skewed. The reason for this is you are exegeting an individual score or measure from what is essentially a team stat. But it is indicative. I don't think Harris had a bad game but I do think Pettiford had a great 11.4 minutes. Basically what the +/- confirms from the eye test is that the team did not fall off much if any when the subs were in the game. That is encouraging.
Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
