Bench consistency was a HUGE weakness last season.

One very important thing for our success this season and this ties into the experience factor somewhat is the consistency of the players. Last season, to put it mildly, we never knew what we were going to get from our entire bench. We had decent consistency from the starters, although not great. But the bench was a huge wildcard. I have developed a new formula that I call the beta. It is a pretty standard measure of consistency. Below is the graph by player for the season. You can see that the bench was far more inconsistent than the starters. You would like for starters to be below 0.5 and preferably below 0.4. We had two very consistent players, Marcus and Ochai. Jalen, David and Christian were decent but not great. But we had no one on the bench that was even decent in terms of consistency. Tristan, Dajuan and Mitch were the best but they were pretty inconsistent. We really need to see far more consistency from the bench this season.

Inconsistency is not necessarily bad if the reason is that occasionally a player is off the charts great while normally being very good. But for the most part the inconsistency was because of players laying huge eggs.

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
