Learned today that latest walk-on Charlie McCarthy will wear Wilt’s 13 during his KU career.

Thanks for this update, HE. It's always appreciated.

But a question for you. Jerrance Howard left KU a a couple of months ago when he took a job elsewhere. KU had three assistant coaches, right? It seems that HCBS has not found a replacement for Howard yet. Do you know if he plans on doing so or how that situation works.

Self is on record that he is in no hurry to fill the assistant coach position left open by the departure of Jerrance “Snacks” Howard. Self is also on record that he is very pleased with the people who have contacted him regarding possibly taking the position. It is expected the position will be filled sometime this summer, early fall at the latest. Until Self does so, Video Coordinator Jeremy Case is serving as an acting AC.

Speculation is that Self is either waiting to see if Joe Dooley will leave Eastern Carolina to rejoin the KU staff, or that Self is pursuing someone in the NBA (Aaron Miles?) but nothing will be settled until the playoffs are over.

All I got for now.

No official word yet on who will fill the AC spot currently occupied by Interim AC Jeremy Case.

UNOFFICIALLY, Rumor Control — and Shay Wildeboor at JayhawkSlant concurs — has it that Jeremy will be officially named as the third AC in the near future.

I’m thinking NLT Late Night in The Phog.

Case is 36 years old (37 come November) and is reportedly doing the full job now and doing it well.

In the meantime, as with soooo many things these days re: KANSAS, we hurry up and wait.

Oh, by the way — rumors are we will be seeing more Morningstar, as Brady will be taking Jeremy’s previous position as video coordinator.
