I blame Tuesday- all three losses have come on a Tuesday. I am looking for something here, this team is crashing and burning much like the last 3 but much earlier in the season

There must be some internal strife within the team. There is no way this team should/could? lose to this OSU team, even in Stillwater, by 20 points. I don't bet but the spread in Vegas was we were favored by 9. We play listless, no energy, consistent matador defense, weak rebounding, no perimeter defense, on and on and on. They seem to lack motivation. Very disappointing in that this is 4 games in a row where the same issues are obvious.

Just one minor quibble, or perhaps it's a clarification on your end. When you say "just like the last three," I personally don't feel that the 2012-13 team should be lumped in with the last two and this year's squad. That team had Withey, Releford, Young, B-Mac, et al. The first three mentioned could play some serious D, and all were fighters who wore the name on the jersey with pride. And the team was one lucky Trey Burke bomb from the parking lot away from advancing to the Elite Eight. (Or a punch to the huevos or ability to get the ball across mid-court in time by Elijah...but I digress)

When I mentioned in a separate post that this is the third straight year of bad D, I meant the prior two teams plus this one (now halfway into its season).

Konza- Sorry, I am talking last three teams, 13-14, 14-15 and this team. The 13-14 team was playing great until Embiid's season ending injury. Last year the team was starting to find its rythmn, I believe we were 19-3, and then Cliff when into a funk and was eventually sidelined, along with the team's D and this team we shall wait and see. However, some of this is the rule changes on hand checking, but most of it is these players seem to not want to work hard and play ugly.

The rules changes on handchecking is really no excuse when other teams are playing significantly better on D than our guys have these past few games. I believe that we all thought they had finally found their "D bone" in the games leading up to this really lousy string of games. And it seems we were wrong, which is both perplexing and disappointing.

I do *not* feel good about playing tu this Saturday, even with the game in AFH. Shaka will have them just as hopped as they were for WVU tonight. I hope our boys prove me wrong.

Concur on both of your points, HE.

PS: The writeup I saw on the UT-WVU game said that there was snow and ice in Morgantown, causing the Longhorns to arrive at the arena very late. Hmmmm, looks like that wasn't a factor in their ensuing performance.

Teams lose games for several reasons. In no particular order, here is my list of the reasons. You figure out which one, or two or three or even more, are affecting our guys.

Injuries
Talent differential
Attitude
Coaching
Fatigue
Serendipity
Matchups

I would add "Execution" to this list.

Before playing the Chiefs in the divisional playoffs last Saturday, Tom Brady was quoted as saying the key to the game was executing as close to flawlessly as possible. He said he and every other Patriot needed to do their job and execute effectively on every play. He and the Patriots then went out and did so.

Now, think about KU in the OU game versus KU in the WVU and OSU games.

Execution needs to be on this list.
