Houston and Grimes going to the FF

Congrats to Houston, HCKS and Quentin Grimes on reaching the Final Four.

Agree. K. Sampson one of my all time favorite coaches. Met him at a youth coaches clinic held a Bishop Miege too many years ago- He was still at OU. STRAIGHT shooter. Also happy for Q. I think he was a bit homesick and maybe felt fit at KU not good with other guards on roster. Lack of motor reminded me a bit of Xavier Henry but in X’s case I felt he was trying to just avoid injury until he could jump to NBA. Anyway, he has a sweet stroke and best of luck- my wife has the Cougars picked to face the Zags in the final!!

I met coach Sampson on flight down to Houston when he was an assistant coach for the Rockets. He saw the Jayhawk on my laptop bag and I recognized him. We had a nice conversation about how tough his OU teams were and how he loved beating KU, because of how much respect he had for KU...He talked about the night Pierce went off..just a joy.
