“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
We are choking right now. Already down double digits!
Come on, Hawks, good Lord!

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
What is with Self and theNCAA. Does he do something to make the guys tight? They are a terrible shooting team and have been all year. But 4 for 20? Come on guys, settle down.

PATHETIC!
Worst display under the bright tourney lights for a KU team that I can recall.
They have CHOKED from the jump. Case in point: being completely intimidated to even shoot the ball - prior to any blocks. We CAME INTO this game intimidated.
Embarrassing.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
I hate the word, but “choke” it is.
Never have I seen any KU team, even under Owens, look so out of it.
Embarrassing doesn’t come close to describing it.
Bucknell?
Bradley?
Move over...

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
Agreed konza. This team has no killer like Devonte' Malik, Frank, Tyshawn, Sherron, etc. The closest we have to a real gamer is Jalen and he looks super rusty. I like our guys but as I have said all season, this team is mostly a nice group of support players. We need the nails guy who has skills. This is the worst shooting team in I don't know how long. I have the data and I will look it up. But good grief this team simply can't shoot and konza is right, we look like we are intimidated. And I know it may not be popular on this board but facts are stubborn things, but Bill Self, despite being pretty much unequalled during the regular season, is a poor NCAA coach. That is not my opinion, those are the objective facts. The real problem with this team is the same problem we have been lamenting all season. This is a team of solid and decent players but no stars and no go to guys. You can have a nice team with a bevy of nice players and we have a nice team. But it is not anything close to a great team. Self brilliantly coached them down the stretch as he normally does. But then March hits.

Meanwhile, just for comparison, Jay Wright is 17-2, I believe, in his last 19 tourney games.
Something is off.

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
2nd worst 3-point team since the 3 point shot. Only 1996 was worse. 50.5% SE is 3rd worst since 1984.

A mediocre 3-point shooting team that doesn’t take many is lighting it up on us.
Naturally.
Our 3-point D has been RANCID.
