What an absolute catastrophic tourney for the Big Ten and ACC

1 Seed Illinois loses to No. 8 Loyola
2 Seed Ohio St. loses to No. 15 seed Oral Roberts
4 Seed Purdue loses to 13 seed North Texas
11 Seed Michigan St. loses to 11 seed UCLA in play-in game

Yes the Big 10 still has 5 teams but considering they were projected to win 12.3 games and now that is down to 10.3. And 3 of the 5 remaining teams are solid underdogs in the 2nd round.

The ACC had 7 teams and 5 lost in the play-in and 1st round. Both of those (4-Florida St. and 11-Syracuse) are underdogs in the 2nd round. This tourney could easily see zero ACC teams in the Sweet 16.

What a nightmare for those two conferences.

Yet the stinking Orange find a way to make the S16..I really don’t like Boeheim who is a class act whiner...

Not shaping up to be a great 2nd round for the Big 12. Arkansas beat Texas Tech by 2. Syracuse, an 11 seed took down Huggie Bear’s WVU team. Argh! And Oklahoma has Gonzaga tomorrow so that is a long shot. Okie St and the Jayhawks need to buckle down and win.

The only team that represented was Baylor. Everybody else stunk up the joint.

To echo LFK, how in the hell is the PAC-12 undefeated?

Here’s to KU stopping that trend tomorrow night!

What is with the Big 12 and March Madness? I watched the OSU game. That is not the same team that played so well down the stretch. They looked terrible. Their defense was so gambling and disorganized. Their offense seemed impatient. I mean they were always an impatient offense but even worse. They made so many mistakes I lost count. And Texas is just always terrible in the tourney. But Texas tech? I expected more from them. But at least they have the excuse of playing a higher ranked team. Bob Huggins has a terrible tourney record. He has a -2.7 net probable wins meaning based on his seed he should have won 35.7 games but has won only 33. For the 46 coaches who have coached at least 30 tourney games, he ranks 40th. Self ranks 38th. Rick Barnes ranks 46th. Lon Kruger ranks 37th. The Big 12 is consistently one of the top 2 conferences in the regular season. But we so consistently underachieve in the Big 12. Let's hope for a KU victory and an Oklahoma miracle tomorrow.

This is why March performance is not indicative of a league or a team’s season, but it’s all anyone talks about. I really do not like the 1 and done format, for the casual fans etc its fun and it’s $$$$& for the greedy NCAA.

Teams that have great seasons and earn a top 4 seed should have more of an advantage.

With Oregon destroying the no defense Iowa team, this tournament is looking more and more like a celebration of the Pac-12.

Quite the Oregon rout.

Here's to KANSAS spoiling the Pac-12 celebration to close the evening! B)

And the Big Ten bloodbath continues. My gosh, what a catastrophe for the Big 10. Since the expansion to 64 teams in 1985, the SEC has been the most overachieving conference of the Power 6. Here are the details of the top 12 conferences. It is not a pretty picture for the Big 8 or the Big 12
