Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
Dajuan had one of his 3 best games as a Jayhawk. He, along with Ochai and David had enough excess rating to overcome Jalen's worst game as a Jayhawk. What is wrong with Jalen. Was that just a bad night, is he ill or did an alien suck out his brains before the game? He was not just bad, he was horrific. But as bad as Jalen was, Dajuan was even better. What a crazy good game for Dajuan. Marcus had a 1st half that was almost as bad as Jalen's game. So his total rating that was below the mark is fair, but Marcus was great in the 2nd half. He had a negative rating for the 1st half so his total game rating shows what a tremendous 2nd half he had. Bryce also had a tough outing. His rating is largely based on his -9 +/-. Mitch, as usual, delivers about what he should.

Is Dajuan good enough to be our point guard next year if Marcus does not come back? His confidence, offensively, is coming along. Does need to get stronger.

Obviously that is an important question that Bill Self needs to ask. I’m sure he has already assessed that. There is no doubt that he is either pursuing an alternative already or has resolved to try to make Dajuan the guy. To the extent that my opinion has any value (basically none) I have not yet seen that he is a full-time starter on a top tier team. He has basically had three really good games, a handful of acceptable games and a fair amount of not so swell games. And that is speaking from the standard of a sub which based on my rating system is a lower standard than for a starter. I like Dajuan and I have enjoyed watching him improve. But is he ready to step in as a starter on a elite division 1 team? Not in my opinion, no. At this point he still seems to me to be an 8-10 minute guy, But my favorite player on this team, Christian, I believe is also a sub level player on an elite team. Maybe a 15+ minute type 6th or 7th man. Heck, I am not convinced Agbaji is truly a starter for an elite team. Certainly not a primary scoring option. I think you can build an elite team around Garrett and MCCormack and Wilson and Agbaji may be starters If you have an elite PG. Bring Christian off the bench for 15, Dajuan for 7-10 and have a solid backup for McCormack for 15 and you have a very good team. I still say, you add Devon Dotson to this team and you have a top 5 team.

I would agree with that assessment.
