ACADEMIC YEAR 2021-22 SIGNING PERIODS FOR D1 MEN'S BASKETBALL --
Early Signing Period window: .... 2021-11-10 thru 11-17
Regular Signing Period window: 2022-04-13 thru 05-18
Source: NLI Future Signing Dates Prospective Student-Athletes Signing AY2021-22 and Enrolling AY2022-23
OTHER IMPORTANT DATES
SUNDAY.... 2022-04-24, 11:59 PM ET: NBA deadline to declare for 2022-06-23 draft (60 days out)
SUNDAY.... 2022-05-01, 11:59 PM ET: NCAA deadline for Fall and Winter sport athletes to enter the Transfer Portal and be eligible to play immediately next season.
SATURDAY 2022-06-01, 11:59 PM ET: NCAA deadline to withdraw from draft and retain eligibility assuming no agent is hired. Date is ten days after the final day of the annual NBA Draft Combine, scheduled for May 16-22, 2022. This date is NOT the same as the NBA's deadline to withdraw from the draft (5:00 PM ET 2022-06-13, 10 days before the NBA draft is held).
With new NCAA rules approved in August 2018, effective with the 2019 NBA Draft players can hire an agent and still return to school.
Note that the approved NCAA rule that would allow a player who stayed in the draft but went undrafted to return to school does not go into effect until the NBA and the NBPA make their final decision on such players not being NBA eligible again until the next school year is over (expected to be approved, but has not been yet).

RECRUITS for AY2022-23: Committed/Signed, Offered & Former
________________________________________________________________________________________
DEPARTING PLAYERS AFTER AY2021-22 ((S) Scholarship, (W) Walk-on)
NB: Due to COVID19, the NCAA has approved an additional year of eligibility and another year to use it if for all AY2020-21 players. Eligible players who stay with their AY2020-21 program to complete their college careers will NOT count against that program's annual scholarship limit of 13 or roster limit of 18 for AY2021-22, and those programs may tap NCAA funds to pay for the extra scholarships if needed. Apparently not counting is a one year deal only for AY2021-22, all subsequent Super Seniors will count against roster and scholarship totals.

So why am I so interested?
1. KU is interested. Kurt Townsend is on point for Mady.
2. I get the chance to use the acute e (é) again, something I have missed since Devonté graduated!
3. I spent my high school years, first two years of college and a year building steel-belted radial truck tires in my father's hometown -- and I guess my hometown as well, though as a military brat I only lived there those 7 years -- of Cumberland, out in the mountains of western Maryland. My Allegany HS teams had two in-town rivals: the crosstown Fort Hill Sentinels and Catholic school Bishop Walsh Spartans. And for the first time I can recall since I began really paying attention to KANSAS recruiting (starting with Grayhawker's now defunct site, developed before Rivals and 247Sports bought up and/or drove out the competition), KANSAS is seriously interested in someone from Cumberland!
Mady Traoré is a Bishop Walsh product who recently transferred to National Christian Academy in Fort Washington, MD, just south of D.C. and 30 minutes away from Mount Vernon across the Potomac River. Traoré has 16 offers so far per Rivals, and he says he is hearing most from Oregon, Kansas and Illinois.
Short Rivals article on Mady Traoré
Traoré's Rivals page
Traoré's 247Sports page
I believe the above article is open to all, so enjoy!
(I've basically told you *almost* everything in it if you can't read it.)

Great name!
4 Star player on Rivals (48), 247Sports (41) and ESPN (84) slates for 2022 class.
Brings KU back up to 2 early commitments after Kyle Cuffe, Jr reclassified to 2021 earlier this year.
Self & Co still have at least 3 more spots to fill in the 2022 recruiting class. (See the updated OP. )
Here's the story from KUSports.com - Smith: 4-star Class of 2022 big Zuby Ejiofor commits to KU basketball
For extras, here's the 247Sports writeup so you may "pick your poison" of articles to read.
Or why not both!
From the 247Sports article.
"(6-8 Ejiofor) is an athletic and tough 215 pounder who always plays hard. He runs the floor extremely well, can play above the rim in traffic and is consistently one of the most energetic players in the rising senior class. He loves to attack the rim from the elbow and while his athleticism certainly stands out, he has a good base set of skills."
Come up to Mount Oread, Zuby!
Rock Chalk, Jayhawk!

The update includes the tables reflecting the latest Rivals rankings, listing the still undecided with an OFFER from KANSAS while moving those who have decided not to come to KANSAS to the FORMER RECRUITS table, and noting who of the OFFERED are listed on JayhawkSlant's Hot Board (meaning Shay Wildeboor thinks these are the most serious contenders for the remaining openings with KANSAS for next year).
At present there are only two projected openings unfilled, but you know how it is - the number of available scholarships can change at any time anywhere between now and the start of Fall 2022.
As always, if you spot any issues, please let me know!
Thanks and ROCK CHALK, JAYHAWKS!

6-4 4* SG Judah Mintz (#68) and
6-4 3* SG Amaree Abram.
No deletions from the list this time around, those remaining are all still listed as UNDECIDED and with KANSAS interested.
Those noted with a ! after their POSITION code are on Shay Wildeboor's Hot Board as "most likely" in his opinion to come to KU.

All information detailed below is taken from there.
SIGNED
#23 M.J. Rice
Shay's "Skinny": On August 10, M.J. Rice, the 6-foot-5, 200-pound small forward from Prolific Prep in Napa, Calif., became the third player from the 2022 class to verbally commit to Bill Self and Kansas. One of the nation's most productive players during the spring and summer AAU circuit, don't be surprised if Rice receives a bump with the 2022 rankings are updated. Landing Rice was certainly a huge win for Self and his staff.
#29 Ernest Udeh, Jr
Shay's "Skinny": Ernest Udeh has had a terrific start to the travel season for Southeast Elite and recently earned a spot in the Rivals150. After watching him this weekend, No. 115 might not be high enough. At 6-foot-10, he’s a totally dominant force in the paint on both ends. He’s quick off his feet around the rim and can move his feet to pick in switches. Nobody caught more lobs for dunks this weekend either. Georgia, Miami, and Seton Hall recently offered. Expect that list to grow in a hurry." Dan McDonald Rivals.com
#37 Gradey Dick
Shay's "Skinny": Obviously, Gradey Dick is already committed to Kansas and is preparing for the start of his senior year at Sunrise Christian Academy. Aside from being AAU teammates with five-star small forward Mark Mitchell, the duo will now play side-by-side at Sunrise Christian Academy this next season. (Note well: Mitchell signed with Duke - HE)
#47 Zuby Ejiofor
Shay's "Skinny": After taking visits to Kansas, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and TCU, Zuby Ejiofor, following his final visit (Texas) verbally committed to Bill Self and Kansas on July 1. Ejiofor, the No. 58 ranked player in the 2022 class, ultimately made the decision to sit down with his family and reach a final decision. Ultimately, he committed to Kansas on June 30 and went public with his decision a day later.
OFFERED
# 4 Yohan Traore
Shay's "Skinny": Yohan Traore, the 6-foot-11, 227-pound forward from Dream City Christian in Glendale, Ariz., has taken an official visit to Kansas and is expected to visit either Texas or UCLA before the next stage of his recruitment.
#68 Judah Mintz
Shay's "Skinny": From June 18 to November 10, Judah Mintz, the 6-foot-4, 170-pound shooting guard from Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., was verbally committed to Pittsburgh. However, Mintz, the No. 68 ranked player in the 2022 class, ultimately made the decision to reopen his recruitment and pursue other options. Kansas, along with many other schools, has reached out. At this point, no visits have been scheduled yet.
#93 Rowan Brumbaugh
Shay's "Skinny": On August 30, 2021, Rowan Brumbaugh, the 6-foot-4, 180-pound point guard from Northfield Mount Hermon High School in Gill, Mass., verbally committed to Northwestern. At the time, it appeared to be the perfect fit for Brumbaugh, the No. 93 ranked player in the 2022 class. However, Brumbaugh, a four-star prospect, didn't sign during the early signing period and, on December 27, went public with his decision to back out of his commitment in order to pursue other options.
#129 Desmond Claude
Shay's "Skinny": Desmond Claude, the 6-foot-5, 190-pound point guard from Putnam Science Academy in Oakdale, Conn., just received a scholarship offer from Kansas earlier in the week. With just one official visit remaining, Claude recently told JayhawkSlant.com that it's "possible, very possible" that a visit to Kansas takes place before a final decision is made.
#-- Amaree Abram
Shay's "Skinny": Amaree Abram, the 6-foot-4, 175-pound guard from Southern California Academy in Santa Clarita, Calif., was committed to Texas A&M from 8/15/21 until 11/18/21. Since opting to back out of his commitment and reopen his recruitment, Abram has heard from the likes of Kansas, Arizona State, Memphis, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, Xavier, Howard, Missouri, Texas Tech, and others. Abram will likely emerge as one of the most heavily recruited prospects in the 2022 class and will have plenty of options to consider when it comes to his future.
#-- Adrame Diongue
Shay's "Skinny": According to Adrame Diongue, the 6-foot-11, 210-pound center from Compas Prep in Chandler, Ariz., some of the nation's top college basketball programs have extended scholarship offers his way. Kansas, Illinois, Texas, and Texas Tech are just a few programs that continue to show serious interest in the talented big man. I've reached out to Adrame Diongue and hope to have some type of update on his recruitment in the near future.

The ESPN write up on Kansas:
4. Kansas Jayhawks
Previous ranking: 5
Top commit: SF Gradey Dick (No. 8 )
While Bill Self has built one of the best rosters in college basketball this season by conquering the transfer market, he once again has the Jayhawks recruiting the high school market at an elite national level. It began with a commitment from local Kansas product Gradey Dick last spring. Dick will provide them with a productive and reliable big wing who is proven against elite competition and well rounded with his floor game. M.J. Rice gives them a power wing with an improved skill level. He'll remind Jayhawk fans of Wayne Selden a little bit and provide an ideal complement to Dick on the wing. Zuby Ejiofor is a throwback-style power forward who could play some small-ball 5 in the modern game. He's powerful, explosive and ultra-aggressive with a high motor. The fourth piece to the puzzle was another frontcourt addition, with 6-foot-10 center Ernest Udeh picking the Jayhawks. The top-50 prospect plays with high energy and is excellent on the glass and at the rim in transition.
