#1 and #3. Mission accomplished on the regular season. Now just tie a bow on it by beating Tech.

I'd actually enjoy it if we just skipped the Big 12 tourney. Or maybe just play the walkons the whole time. It's meaningless and just impedes recovery, while adding the risk of injury. I'd actually like to negotiate a deal with the NCAA: tell us who's in (KU, Baylor, Tech, WVU) and then let the other 6 play a mini-tournament to determine any final at-large picks.

But yeah, we're as well positioned for a NC as we've been in a long time. Nevertheless, the beauty/stupidity of the tournament is that random things happen. This team has pretty much all of the tools it needs to win it all (except the outside shooting), but luck plays about a 50% role in things, so it's hard to set expectations.

I hear you NotO. Given the lock on the BIG XII championship, coupled with the meaninglessness of the tourney, let's get the "next man up" on the bench some valuable real time practice and rest the lead horses. De souzsa is back -- yes?

Then, on to the net cutting!!!! :cheer:

Good question on DeSousa. If I remember correctly, he was going to eligible by the Tech game, but I'm not certain. Also, the Big 12 gave him the suspension, but Self has the authority to extend it further, so just because the Big 12 says he's good to go, Self has a say as well.

I do hope he comes back for Saturday and gets some minutes. At the same time, I'd also like it if Self was cooking up some "secret weapons" in practice that he's keeping undercover until they're needed. Everybody expects and preps for the Dotson/Dok attack, but it would be cool if Self unleashed some new evil monster using DeSousa and McCormack or some other combo to flummox and baffle our opponents. We can call it the Spanish Inquisition lineup since (as Monty Python famously reminded us) "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition."

At the very least, if DeSousa is playing better than he was at the early part of the season, he's also not as dinged up and worn down as the other guys. I suppose even if he's able to give Dok a breather or two, that's great.
