Josh Speidel was a high level recruit to Vermont in 2015. Before he headed off to college he was t-boned in a car accident that left him seriously injured including some brain damage, not to mention sever physical damage. Yesterday, he was inserted into the Vermont game with Albany and allowed to score the 1st 2 points for Vermont, much like the Archie Marshall story for Kansas. Great video and story. Very heart-warming.
In a more up-beat but no less smile inspiring was the story of Jackson State’s team manager Thomas “snacks” Lee. Heck, just the nickname makes you smile. Snacks is, how shall I say, a bit rotund. Jackson St. inserted him in the lineup and after several attempts swished a 27 footer. He was not shy about his excitement. It is a great video and you want to clap for the kid even as you watch the video.
Fun stuff.
