Wow! What a game! Simply one of the best I have seen ever.
I rarely complain about the officiating, but that had to be one of the worst officiated games I have seen. Phantom calls (no need to rehash Frank's clean steal), missed calls (It is goal tending when you go through the basket to tip a ball away), no calls (how many muggings were missed), to inconsistent calls (ticky tack calls one time and ignoring brutal contact another). It was just bad. Add to it the disparity for most of the game in calls and it was just silly how bad it was.
Seldon (snicker) played fantastic! It is no shock to me that OU made the run in the first half with him on the bench with two fouls.
One of the funniest signs I saw in the crowd was "You have to be more than OK to win in Allen"
Buddy Heild! WOW! Not only is he probably the most complete player in college today, he seems to be a really likeable guy. He passes, dribbles, shoots from anywhere, rebounds, plays D.... WOW Absolutely unstoppable. Frank played great ball denial and Heild was still able to get to the rim for put backs and make passes for assists.
I think Lucas scored all of his points in OT. What a clutch player in the game he turned out to be.
Great team effort. Great game. A classic in Allen

Good stuff, Kong.
Re Selden, I concur, and would add two things:
* His lockdown D on Cousins was off the charts. It's almost as if Cousins wasn't on the floor for huge stretches of time. Superb, underappreciated job there.
* We HAVE to look more to Wayne when the chips are down. For far too long and in too many possessions in crunch time, we forgot about him. He's the guy we need to take over a game like that down the stretch going forward, IMHO...

the same thing that Selden was doing to Cousins, Heild was doing to Selden. Held was making it very difficult for KU to get the ball to Wayne. When our guards drove towards the trees, Selden was NOT open in the corner or on the wings for an open 3.

Yea,yea,yea, keepin' the faith
The remaining Kansas fans gave Heild a standing ovation after he finished his sports center interview

Buddy Hield is a terrific player.
Lucas is the worst offensive player I've ever seen. I doubt that I've ever seen anyone miss more shots within 2 feet than he has, nor have I ever seen a worse attempt at a dunk than his effort last night. He's clearly a smart young man with a big body, who does do some things well, but offense is not one of them.

I generally agree with you. In a thread elsewhere today I wrote
"Turned to a guy at the bar who had asked what the heck Lucas was in for at that point and said that I had no idea. A few seconds later, he is playing great D and scoring 5 straight (I think they were straight) points and I turned to him and said, "I guess that's why"
Truly stepped up at the right time."
- See more at: www.rockchalk.com/index.php/forum/basket...sthash.hws3skhR.dpuf
For as bad as he can be, he really stepped up at that particular moment.
This was truly a team effort to overcome a fantastic effort by OU and Hield in particular. A great game all around including Lucas in that OT stretch

it is always interesting when you see great important plays in a game that do not show up in a stat sheet. Like denying a pas or screening to create space for others.

As usual I agree 100% with Senex. Lucas is not my favorite KU player for reasons stated above. It is difficult to criticize a player when things turn out in their favor but the other side of that is you don't know how well any other players (Mickelson, Bragg, Traylor) MIGHT have been. Is it possible with the addition of anyone of the above players we don't go to overtime? We will never know. As I have stated in other posts I would really like to understand the bromance between HCBS and Landen. It worked last night but I have also seen it go the other way and that spooks me just a skosh.
One more point that I am sure Senex would love to point out but has held his typing fingers.....it is H-i-e-l-d...like a y-i-e-l-d sign. Not a grammar guru but am loving the whole "Seldon" back and forth. Thought I could add my worthless 2 cents.
