Of which there are many, but these two box score stats jumped out at me:

FT - FTA
Devonte' Graham 6 - 7
Landen Lucas 5 - 6

Clutch! ;)

Lucas only had 5 points, but they got KU to the final OT when no one else could hit a shot late in OT2.

Clutch indeed!

Turned to a guy at the bar who had asked what the heck Lucas was in for at that point and said that I had no idea. A few seconds later, he is playing great D and scoring 5 straight (I think they were straight) points and I turned to him and said, "I guess that's why"

Truly stepped up at the right time.

Which brings me to a point. I personally think Hield was the Player of the Game and not Ellis. Not trying to diminish Ellis at all, I just felt that what Buddy did was far and away beyond any other single person on the court. Having said that, KU was so much more balanced and had players step up at magical moments throughout the game that it was truly a team effort at every turn. Playing like that every game all game will win an NC.

Totally agree. Heild was far and away the best player in the game yesterday. I just don't think the announcers typically give it to a guy in a losing effort.

As for KU, Perry certainly deserved it, but you could make credible cases for the contributions of Mason and Selden as well. KU is definitely more balanced than OU. That being said, when you've got a guy like Heild who can drop 46 on us in AFH, I suppose you don't need much in the way of balance.

He played really well and hit some clutch threes, finishing with 27 points. On most nights, that would be enough to be the leading scorer!
