Buddy Hield had 27 points and nine rebounds and the third-ranked Sooners remained one of five unbeaten teams in Division I by escaping with an 84-81 victory over Hawaii...

Through 10 games, Hield is averaging 24 ppg.

I'll have to look at who they've played so far. Not impressed by a 3 point win over Hawii.

We play them in a week-and-a-half. I hope our team is taking them seriously.

Our close call at home is looking less like a poor effort. OU will be tough. We have a very important weekend coming up. Get to 2-0 at home and they chase us.

Hield was named MVP of the Diamond Head Classic as the Sooners won three games in route to the title. The senior guard averaged 28.7 points and 6.7 rebounds, combining for a total of 86 points to set a new tournament scoring record. He set a career-high with 34 points in Friday’s championship game versus Harvard, his fourth 30-point outing of the year. Hield shot 60.5 percent (26-of-43) over the three games, including 59.1 percent (13-of-22) from 3-point range, while making 21-of-22 (.955) from the free throw line. He has scored 25 or more points in five straight contests.
