"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
As I noted earlier in the 2017-18 recruiting thread, Rivals national recruiting analyst Eric Bossi believes higher level programs don’t want to overlook Ochai. And JayhawkSlant’s Shay Wildeboor believes KU has offered not because they won’t land Langford, but because a backyard recruit of Ochai’s caliber is “too good to (let) get away”.
This also indicates (at least to me) that Self & Co are planning on more than just one more currently unknown departure. Known scholarship openings (already obligated to current signees Devon Dotson, Quentin Grimes and David McCormack) are DG, Svi and Circles, so at least one more opening would be needed to bring any one else on.
Cunliffe has already transferred once, so he’s less likely to go than Vick IMO. Of course, there is nothing to stop him from walking away if he is not happy with his situation at KU, and if he dropped down to D2 he wouldn’t have to sit a year while finishing his degree and preparing himself for a pro career opportunity at any level.
Vick has played himself out of Early Entry status, but I would gladly wish “farewell” to him by some other avenue if it means landing Langford or Agbaji in his place. (Yeah, ok, call me Pontius.)
Malik is going to have to step up even more than he has, and consistently, to be a viable EE option.
Dok will have worked his way into the NBA Draft top 60 by the end of the NCAA’s, but I have to think he would be first round material if he stays one more season.
Thoughts?

Don't worry about the mules, just load the wagon!!
1. Lightfoot - can’t imagine he is going anywhere. Gotta think he is 100% committed and Self is fully committed to him.
2. Garrett - Seems he is similar to Lightfoot. Can’t see him bolting or getting nudged out.
3. Newman - He is a bit more enigmatic but having transferred once and spending two years here he does not seem to be a transfer option. I could see him being an EE. I can’t see him making the first round and probably not even the second. But overseas money is alluring for some of these guys. I still think he has to have NBA dreams and that is best done at KU. I give him 95% to stay.
4. Vick - Wow, what to say. People were talking about him on the draft board now he is not even a decent college player. I can’t imagine that he would be nudged out but I could see him declaring. I say 85% he returns.
5. Cunliffe - Zero impact and he can’t be happy with that. With the guys coming in he is a practice player only next year. Way less than 50% he returns whether he leave or is nudged.
6. Udoka - I think most of us would advise him to stay but money beckons and he could be allures away. I say 70% he stays.
7. De Sousa - Can’t imagine any other scenarios than he comes back. 99% he is back
8-10. Lawson, Lawson and Moore - They sat for a year, can’t imagine them going anywhere.
11-13 McCormick, Dotson and Grimes - Obviously they will be here.
++ - Langford - Self would easily nudge out Cunliffe to get Langford.
++ - Ochai - Not sure how you land him unless Vick, Dok or Newman declares.

De Sousa’s only option for leaving is overseas since he won’t meet the one year requirement after this half-season.

This reminds me, as much as I'm trying to put the horrendous OSU loss out of my mind, there was a point near the end of the game when Dok showed us a glimpse of the beast, the light came on, he was becoming his own man, a force, the will and the want to to win, he Got It...and it was a pleasure to see! ...May be the end of Poke-a-Dok and the start of Awoke-a-Dok...He looks trimmer, has more stamina, and of course he started the game 4 for 4 on free throws....I hope he can maintain and even build on this intensity! Any scout who saw that would be pulling together a wad of big draft bucks even as we speak!
