"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
As expected and already noted elsewhere on the RCB, Udoka tossed his hat in the ring for the NBA draft on Friday. Should he stay, all 5 starters from last year’s team will be gone.
He is expected to return, however, and the OP update reflects this.
I also edited the OP to reflect that Silvio will still be on scholarship next year unless/until KU is told he is ineligible by the NCAA.
With that edit, Self & Co have just 1 scholarship available for next year, which they hope to fill with Romeo Langford.
Langford will be announcing his decision on April 30.

As already noted
here,
KU target Romero Langford chose to stay home and play for Indiana. C'est la hoops.
In other news, KANSAS is one of several programs going hard after University of Albany-SUNY graduate transfer Joe Cremo (17.8 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 3.8 APG last season), a career 41.8% shooter from three-point range and 85% FT shooter who is a playmaker that can facilitate and create for himself. In conference play (American East) last year he finished second in assist percentage (25.4), and eighth in turnover percentage (12.5 percent). If KU can get him he would give our Jayhawks some senior leadership that they will be missing next year.
Reports are that he is very competitive and seems to have his best games against good teams, despite being the focal point of the opposition's defense as Albany didn't have a lot of offensive weapons.
He's a VERY good three point shooter (over 45% last season), and it seems likely he plays decent defense given that both KU and Nova are hosting him this week -- Nova on Wednesday (tomorrow as I write this) and KU over the weekend.
He has already visited with Texas and Creighton, and may do one more official visit from among Penn State, Gonzaga and Oregon, schools he has previously mentioned before Nova and KU got into the mix.
IMHO Nova is the team KU has to beat for his services next year.
Keeping my fingers crossed he walks off campus this weekend a Jayhawk.
Elsewhere, the final undecided Top 100 KU offeree PG Brandon Williams (Rivals #32) looks to have cut his options down to Oregon, Gonzaga and Arizona, and will be announcing his decision on Saturday. www.oregonlive.com/recruiting/index.ssf/...5-star_pg_set_1.html

JayhawkSlant article: EJ Elliott to walk-on at KU
I believe the above article is open for anyone to read. If anyone can't, let me know and I'll paraphrase the contents.
Here is a teaser from it:
For most, if not all, playing at the University of Kansas is the opportunity of a lifetime.
“Not really,” said Elliott when asked if he was a Kansas fan growing up. “Honestly, Coach (Bill) Self was the first one to just kind of believe in me and he would just make calls and texts. I just felt like, when I took a visit, it kind of felt like home. Everybody says it, but you really do feel home when you know where you need to be, so it felt like home.
“I will be at Kansas on June 1st,” he added.
Note that he didn't play much as a HS senior (he was home schooled, so had credits issues), leading to him to decide to attend a prep school year at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL.
Here's Matt Tait's first comment on Elliott.
This recruiting thread's OP has been updated to include Elliott as a walk-on.

This interview
was published last year before he decided to attend prep school. He was looking at KU, Wake Forest, NU and Zona at that time. Based on the text of the interview and his just announced walk-on announcement, it's seems clear he did not get any offers (or at least any he liked) last year, and despite interest from more schools this year, didn't get any this year as well.
If he did get scholarship offers from anyone this year and still chose to walk-on with KU instead, Self and Co may have gotten a steal in the kid. Time will tell.

With the announcement that Lagerald Vick is returning for his senior season, KU's last open scholarship has arguably gone to the best remaining option available to HCBS, and the AY2017-18 annal of KUMBB Recruiting looks to have come to a close.
