Same for the 4 Rivals experts.
Man, I sure hope they are all correct!
Come on, Q, we got a spot just for you!

"The Kansas backcourt is going to be really interesting next year,” he added. “Obviously you have Grimes and Dotson coming in as highly regarded recruits, Charlie Moore is coming off of sitting his transfer year. Marcus Garrett will be back, Sam Cunliffe is there and then you have to see what happens with Malik Newman and LaGerald Vick when it comes to the NBA. It's going to be a loaded group that will allow Self to play many different styles on both ends of the floor."

Self thrilled with 2018 haul, still looking for more.

Although KU has more offers out there to guys who have yet to decide, at present there are only four Top 50 guys with known KU offers listed as still available -- #2 Zion Williamson (6-6 wing), #3 Romero Langford (6-4 SG), #13 Moses Brown (7-0 C) and #21 Emmitt Williams (6-6 F)
Williamson is reportedly looking vary hard at home state school Clemson, but at present he is pictured to be essentially a tossup between Clemson and UK, with KU and UNC trailing far behind.
Langford is considered to be KU's best bet at landing a fifth Jayhawk, but looking at 247Sports Crystal Ball projection we are 3rd in the running.
44% Indiana
39% Vanderbilt
11% JU
6%?
Moses Brown is considered to be a practical lock for Turgeon and Maryland (82% vs 18% for UK).
Emmitt WIlliams CB % are
50% LSU
21% Oregon
14% Florida
7% KU
7% others
Outside the top 50:
82/**** F Jairus Hamilton (6-7) of Concord, NC is considered an ACC lock
Maryland 47% N.C. State 29% North Carolina 12% Boston College 6% 6%
85/**** C B. Penn-Johnson (7-0) of Mt. Pleasant, UT is considered a lock for UWashington (100%)
That's it as far as confirmed offerees. I will add more to the list as information becomes available.
And we all know how Self & Co have a knack for finding talent worthy of development to complement the star players.
But it is nice, for the first time in a long while, to have recruiting essentially sewn up in November but for any late departures that need to be filled.in April.

Today reports are Coach Jerrance Howard will be watching the final target KU really wants for 2018. Rivals #6 Romeo Langford is a 6-foot-4, 185-pound shooting guard from New Albany (IN) High School. He is currently down to Kansas, Indiana and Vanderbilt.
NB: Romeo and New Albany (IN) High School will be on ESPNU at 4:30 today.
Coach Self is going to Rochester, Minn to watch Rivals 2019 #9 prospect Matthew Hurt, a 6-foot-9, 200-pound power forward from John Marshall High School. According to Shay Wildeboor (JayhawkSlant), Hurt is "one of the most heavily recruited prospects in the 2019 class... with offers from Kansas, Arizona, Duke, Kentucky, Florida, Indiana, Louisville, North Carolina, UCLA, and many, many others have extended scholarship offers to Hurt. Having already been on campus unofficially and because Self and his staff have been recruiting Hurt for a long period of time, he and his family are quite familiar with the program."
Shay thinks that KU is "in excellent position for both. When all is said and done, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if both ended up attending Kansas."
That's it for now.
Have a great weekend!

Main change after yesterday's changes is in the Available Scholarships data.
All current recruits are covered with the departure of Preston.
If Self lands Rivals #6 Romero Langford, KU will need to come up with one more scholly.
What do you think of this team for next year?
(Assumes Vick, who is currently KU's highest projected 2018 NBA Draft candidate, is gone, but not Azubuike, who is not yet showing up on NDA Draft mocks.)

Comments from Rivals Analyst Eric Bossi on the lad. Link for JayhawkSlant subscribers
Ochai is a High major/Big 12 athlete for sure. Long arms, nicely built frame and he's a springy athlete who collects and gathers to get off the floor quite easily. Maybe somewhat straight up and down in his play and laterally (not a ton of wiggle to him) but a smart and alert player. Love his communication on the floor. Last night didn't set up for him to take a bunch of jump shots but his stroke looks pretty pure and free throws look great. Biggest area of concern would be ball handling. Really struggled when doubled last night and didn't show much off hand. But, I don't think he's being recruited by anybody to be a ball handler.
...The kid visited Colorado State a few weeks ago and is an absolute no brainer at that level. I can see why high majors are looking now because he has intangibles, is a worker and has the athletic tools. The fear for a higher level program (Kansas or Oregon State (official visit Feb. 10) or Texas A&M (watching him Friday, etc.) is that he goes to a place like that and 2-3 years down the road he's developed and you play against him and are like "why didn't we recruit him."
He's pretty solid and I am looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds for him. He's going to end up with some nice options and by all accounts is a high character kid.

Vandy and Indiana are on the downswing right now, but IU would mean staying home (see Trae Young and OU), so that is always a strong pull. And Vandy is close enough to home to be attractive for many of the same reasons as IU. Have to wonder -- if he waits until April as indicated, will KU winning #14 help in his decision? WIll KU making the FF or even winning it all help in his decision?
I'm hoping he decides KU, as I think we will lose at least one more player beyond DG, Svi and Billy P.
Who? That's all up in the air, and heavily dependent how the next 2 months play out for Newman, Azubuike and Vick in particular if we are talking early entry departures.

I also took the opportunity to update Cunliffe's eligibility status, which I had previously gotten wrong. Although he sat out a year, per NCAA rules he lost a year of eligibility for the semester he played at ASU, and loses his second year by playing this Spring for KU. He was therefore technically not a redshirt in the traditional sense from Jan -Dec 2017, he just did not play because he had to sit out. Since he still gets 5 years of eligibility coming to him, he will still have 3 years left to play 2 after this semester. That means he can transfer somewhere else and and still play two years there.
