Self wants different ‘mentality’ on defense...

"When I was a freshman, I remember Coach Naismith telling us how important it was to play good defense." - Mitch Lightfoot
Seems like the reporters could just file this story away, and trot it out every December, change the names, and a few minor details and reprint it. Easy day at the office, lol.
Self, as we all know, stresses defense, and we all know that the fastest route to significant minutes is showing that you can play defense.
At this point, we typically have freshmen learning the ropes who haven't figured that out yet, as well as a couple veteran guys who are asked to step it up.
The good news is that typically after this story, a few weeks later there's a story highlighting guys who have made significant strides in that regard. I'll look for that in early January,
