Was there any comment on tv or radio about LL being sick or something? He seemed to get winded easily. He really wasn't in foul trouble till late (4th at 6:43 in 2nd half), but just played 25 minutes. Early in 2nd half (or maybe just as half was starting), saw some KU staff take what appeared to be a pill to him. The timeouts are longer - several were said to be charged as a 30 second timeout but taken as a full one. Just wondering!

“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”

The announcers didn't say anything, JR, nor did I see anything in post-game accounts about him being sick.
I will say that my son and I both noticed--and called out to ourselves--that 4 Jayhawks were leaned over with their hands on their knees at one point in the first half. We found that odd because none of the State players were that way, and yet KU has been running up and down the court for both halves all year. Strange. But that was not only LL but also our guards. Believe it was FM, DG, JJ, and LL we saw oddly winded, but I'd have to go back and look at the DVR.

Clearly it's the Oklahoma water doing in our guys. Was their water Stillwater? It's a conspiracy, I tell ya!

On a separate, but still Landen related note, I noticed that his thumb wasn't bandaged (not sure if this was the first game or not, but it's the first game where I noticed). His first three baskets looked pretty smooth when he caught the ball with his back to the basket, turned, and made a nice little jump hook. That was very encouraging.

NICE! Keep hitting those soft left and right hooks, Landen. Do that in conjunction with great play from our wings, and we are a LOCOMOTIVE force to be reckoned with!

I think everyone just got sped up. There was another point in the second half where I noticed the same thing. In both cases, the team recovered and went on to do great things. You are right, Landen looked particularly gassed. MSU was pushing the pace. I think it was intentional as MSU knew they had more bodies to throw in the game than we did. I think they were hoping to wear us out but I think the opposite happened as their young team lost concentration towards the end of both halves.

"I think everyone just got sped up"
Yep. That definitely looked to be the case in the early going. We were amped to the rafters (excessively so), and it was undercutting our game. Josh Jackson was most notable on that score. (Witness the botched early dunk)
But credit to the kids for settling down and imposing their will. (Self spoke at half time about getting them to settle down--too sped up--which you and JR didn't have the benefit of hearing at the arena)
