That has to be THE take away from the TCU game. The defense has been a weakness this season, often just good enough throughout or at key times to keep the good guys in front. Thursday, it failed to make an appearance late and KU lost a close one instead of putting is one away as has become the norm.
Time for a late season tune up to get back some of the good aspects we've seen with the reminder that this is the "lose and go home" point of the season as TCU gladly showed. At this point the defense is pretty much what it is, disappointing (probably to no one more than HCBS), but it proven functional. The final test has arrived, to cram for it. Not an ideal way to go into it, but better that than the alternative. Coach 'em up!
Kind of wish they would break out that press more often. It has been very effective when used at times and is a shocking shift from the norm that helps make it effective.
