My only real concern with this game if we lose. Tarred ones and Nova making strong bids to pass KU if we lose today.

Not being facetious - what does being #1 overall seed actually get us?

I "think":

prestige?
a bigger bulls-eye on your chest? Like we need that!
should we get to play closer to home? Yeah, right!

Don't listen to me, JR. I'll then the knowledgeable folks tell you.

Supposedly you get an easier path to the FF but I recall that the last time we got the overall #1 the analysts agreed we had one of the harder roads. Assuming we don't lose a 1 seed, I'd assume we still get the close locations? So not sure it's a big deal.

Yes, I figured the answer would be the #1 #1 would be matched against the #4 #1 bracket. Of the two who might jump us, imagine Nova would want the East and UNC the South.

Seriously this team just gagged against TCU. Giving up 85 pts wow, this team has no margin, absolutely no margin for error. Yes I know that in the grand scheme this game does not matter but it might have cost KU the overall #1 seed and really any time you lace them up you want to win. Hope HCBS chews their butts off for the pretty poor showing.

It might not be a big deal, rainy. It's just a shame that it's up in the air now. This is not like losing in the title game or even the semifinals. The guys couldn't take care of business in their first conference tournament game. Even without Josh, they had chances to win and didn't capitalize on them.

I think everyone on the Committee knows that KU played without Josh Jackson today and that he'll be back. That said, we may lose the top #1 seed, but I don't really think we'll drop to a 2 seed. I still see us in Tulsa and KC going forward.

El Capitan actually.
Of course I'm right. I'm always right. (Oh wait. That's my wife.)

I wasn't 100% sure, but El Capitan is cool, too. From that angle looks a like like Devil's Tower. It's been a while since I've been to DT, and I don't recall if there is any vantage point where trees could frame it like in your pic, so that should have been the clue it wasn't DT.

I said this early on and was mocked by some. This team did not have a lot of room to grow. We have been playing at a pretty high level over all and have not grown a great deal. Yes Jackson has developed and Lucas came on when we needed him, but overall we did not see the development that we normally saw during past years.

Does that mean we are bad or that I am down on this team? Not at all. It just meant that other teams were going to grow and catch up to us. I believe that is what we have been seeing with all these close games.

The good news is that With Jackson in the lineup, Frank continuing to play like a beast, Graham hitting clutch shots, Vick playing well, we are still pretty darn good. When this team is on a roll, nobody can stay with us. When we just play well, another team can play at their very peak and we see little gap between us and them.

It is a hard team to predict. I can see us getting on a roll and being unstoppable. I can also see us playing from behind and not being able to pull it out with a relatively early exit.

No matter what this has been a fun season and I will be rooting them on just like all the rest here
