Halftime on the radio has played a series of prerecorded interviews of Senior parents. Here's a paraphrased version of the comments Frank Mason II had about his son...
He has come into the program and worked hard, represented the program well...
He is so strong and plays so tough. He truly wants the best for his team. He has become a real leader.
Most proud of his rising to the occasion and making the most of his opportunity. He prevailed over all the naysayers.
From a 3 star recruit going to a mid-major to become a national POY for the best team in the country is unbelievable.
You could hear the pride Mr. mason has for his son and his years at KU.
Rock Chalk.

“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
It was very touching seeing his Pop weep while Frank was introduced before the game. The depth of a parent's love, hopes and dreams for his/her child is incalculable.
