I was thinking that once we locked up the conference, it could be a good time to get some rest for Frank (and really all the guys who have consistently played 35+ min/game). Frank is truly an iron man, but I just have bad memories of Aaron Miles seemingly going brain dead during the 2004 and 2005 NCAA tournaments. Many speculated that it was due to him playing too many minutes.
But realistically, HCBS wants to continue with routines (which is totally fine) AND since we would need to win out to get the #1 seed in the Midwest (and that’s important), we know Frank’s minutes will not change. I’m not saying FM playing a lot will affect him, I’m just putting some thoughts out there.
Here's a video of the HCBS press conference after the TCU game:
At the 1:45 mark, he was asked about potentially not resting the players now that the Big 12 title was locked up.
And on a completely separate, but very funny note, go to the 8:50 mark to hear a funny Brandon Rush story.
