HCBS UT Postgame Comments

Played really well early then went brain dead then picked it up again...Up and down, but they played Texas better than anyone on their court.

Seemed like they were doing everything possible to give Texas a chance to get back in it, but kept it from getting to that point.

Not sure he's ever been part of a game with so many missed layups that led to made layups at the other end.

Most proud of Coleby's effort and success. Player of the game. Really happy to see him have a good game.

Regarding Monday...bad start time, hopes everybody is ready to hang late and give that Senior class their deserved attention and tribute. It will be tough in some respects as always, but fun to see those guys finish well.

Everybody happy for Dwight. Getting bounce back...it has been showing with some explosiveness in practice. Very deserving of the positive outcome and talk with this game.

Defense and rebounding, getting key turnovers...important for the guards to be getting involved and getting good position to rebound.

Coaches tell him to just keep shooting. Not sure what is up with the beginning of 2nd half success he has had lately.

Re Svi's cold shooting...kind of the same encouragement to keep looking for his shot, just is still not coming together lately...coaches and guys just want him to keep positive

Going to be very emotional Monday. want to send them out on top and in style.

Glad to have the opportunity and do well with it when given the chance.

Been working at getting stronger, coach and guys seeing him getting more explosive and confident. Waiting for his moment just part of it. Just wants to play with a free mind and step up when it counts. Felt like he has been ready for awhile, just have to keep working, stay positive, and make the most of floor time.

Got to be ready pick up when needed and will be important going forward.

His dad got to see the game and Dwight had spoken with him afterwards. Dad is proud of his effort, happy to have him be able to see him play and contribute.

Dwight has been working really hard and is getting that athleticism back. He was ready when his number was called.

Good to see the bigs having great contributions (Carlton and Dwight), their success will mean a lot to the team success getting to this time of year.

Josh just wants to win. Whatever it takes, he will do it. He is so versatile and can do so much to help assure success.

The Seniors have meant so much to the program and represented KU so well. It will be a great night Monday, tough too, but fun to send those guys off well.

...anyone hear why Bragg didn't play much? thank you, texkan ;P

Elsewhere Self mentioned Bragg's two cheap fouls that limited his availability in the first half in addition to the effectiveness of Coleby . HCBS continued to go with the hot hand of Coleby as one of the main guys in off the bench along with Vick who made a solid contribution as well. Still, you would think Bragg would have gotten some more minutes somewhere along the way, but then again I have thought that same thing in regards to Coleby or Lightfoot at times.

There was no indication there was any injury and only Self's comment about the two early fouls so I imagine it was just Coach's choice. Can't imagine Bragg's play warranted a doghouse sentence any more than it probably has at times before, but maybe I missed something.
