“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”

...in terms of this dominant run in a power conference.

Per Matt Norlander of CBS Sports:
While UCLA did win 13 straight Pac-8 titles, from 1967-1979, the fact is that John Wooden was not on UCLA’s sideline from 1976-79. Wooden’s successor, Gene Bartow, coached two of those teams. Gary Cunningham coached the final two. So as a program, Kansas is set to match UCLA’s record. As a coach, Self stands alone. There has never been a coach in a major conference to finish atop his league’s regular season standings 13 straight years -- but that will change with Kansas’ next win.
Hell yeah!

What I like is that this run of exceptional dominance by KU under Self is beginning to get greater national exposure. As it should!

Thanks for posting this, Konza. The talking heads (Vitale, and many others) keep saying that KU will tie Coach Wooden's record. As you pointed out, the last 4 years of UCLA's 13 straight weren't Wooden. While that leaves HCBS alone with 13 years straight, IMHO, from a school standpoint it could be easier to maintain excellence with the same great coach (HCBS), than it was for UCLA with 3 coaches in that span. However, mitigating in KU's favor, is the Big 12 has been much tougher than the Pac ?? was.
