students of Kansas geography?
I didn't know Liberal, KS was close to Lawrence! (Only 373.6 miles away. I'd hate to make the commute!)

I totally agree, Muted my tv as well. I can concentrate on the game better with out the commentary. I also prop up the laptop to the box score on ESPN so I pretty much have everything I need and can make my own commentary. )

I tweeted him and told him the distances of the two schools and TT was much closer. He tweeted back and said he didn't say that.

Did they really mention Liberal? That's where I grew up and the trip to Lawrence several times per year during undergrad and law was pretty long!

I grew up there, too, Rainyhawk, and I make the trip back a couple of times a year. Depending on how many stops I make, it
takes 6 to 8 hours no matter which route I take. We probably have some acquaintances in common.
As to the tweet Jayhawk 969 received in reply to his tweet, the commentator absolutely DID say it.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
Re: the reply to 969's tweet, Liberal being in Lawrence 's back yard was definitely mentioned.
But are we sure it was Miles Simon that said it? I know I thought it was Miles, too, but maybe it was the other guy? We've already deleted the game recording or i'd double check myself.

Replay was on this morning. It was Rich Hollenberg, not Miles Simon.
8:58 H1, 21-15 KU
Niem Stevenson shooting free throws for TT.
Hollenberg:
"6-5 junior out of Dallas by way of junior college. A two time JUCO All-American at Seward Community College, where? At Liberal, Kansas, not far from Lawrence."
