“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
Yesterday stunk for all of us, but it could be worse--we could be UK fans who watched their team get utterly destroyed by Florida. And have their star (Monk) seen laughing on the bench while the beatdown occurred.

It doesn't change KU's outcome, but maybe softens the blow just a tad.

The end is nothing; the road is all.

Great subject line!
Still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. As Fran-the-shill said: You play a third of your games below who you are . . .

Yes. We played below who we are while ISU played above who they are. I think Burton was paying us back for Elijah Johnson's overtime performance a few years back.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
At least we do not have to suffer what Atlanta sports fans are enduring.
"When you are going through Hell, keep going!" - Donald Mallard, MD*
*I'm sure he was not the first to say it, but he's where I first heard it, hence the attribution.

I watched the game here in Atlanta which bunch of friends. First three quarters were a lot of cheering and fun. Then we saw it coming. Thanks for your expression of sympathy.
