*OH, General Brown?!*

OK you military folks in KU land, how many of you saw Ms Molly address the General as a Lt. Gen.? and espn had the crawl incorrect, as well. Military night and they (ESPN) can't even have the crawl title or speak to the FOUR star General, correctly. i sent a note off to espn, NO reply yet. the mistake was so frustrating i was looking for NURSE's whereabouts!!! Anyway bottoms up. SLEEP WELL, PHANS. OH and my yearly prediction is KU with six losses, total! thank you, texkan

I cringed the entire interview. And he was in dress whites so wasn't he a NAVY ADMIRAL? Not a General??

I didn't even think of that?

After further review; his shoulder boards were NOT naval insignia/rank. just FOUR stars, straight across. thank you, texkan

I had the pleasure of meeting General Brown a year ago in the B-School’s suite at the West Va game. He was the Commanding Officer of the Combined Arms Center at Ft. Leavenworth. He was a 3-star then.

He was accompanied by some staff, including the provost for the Army University; he was a 1-star also stationed at Ft. L. (similar to yesterday’s game, KU honored the armed forces that day.)

I had a nice conversation with Gen. Brown. Needless to say, he was gracious, informed, and professional. He and BG Yem were big supporters of KU programs, especially the B and E schools.

Gen. Brown was assigned last spring to lead the Pacific Command, and promoted to the 4 stars he was wearing Friday night. So, maybe ESPN had an old bio for him that still listed 3 stars. That’s still no excuse.

I was surprised to see the white uniform, too. After a short internet search, I learned that white is an option for summer or tropical locales. So, Hawaii fits the bill for that!

When I saw Gen. Brown on TV, I hoped that he was rooting for KU, given his recent ties to the area.
