ESPN analyst raves about young Kansas talent

I was in Lawrence today having a late lunch with my Gorilla Sis downtown at 10th and Mass at Ingredients. (Great Food by the way!) it was a beautiful Fall day so we were dining outside. All of a sudden the door pops open and out walks Head Coach Bill Self. We were so surprised we just kind of sat there...and as he walked quickly by he smiled and said: "Hi, how's it goin'?" i managed to say "Hi Coach!"

He was soon followed by a bunch of other happy guys who turned out to be all the other coaches and staff, Curtis Townsend, Norm Roberts, etc....they'd all been inside having a luncheon meeting! But there was also another guy who looked familiar and who seemed to be the center of attention as they lingered and said their goodbyes...

It wasn't until later when I got home and saw this article that I recognized who he was and why he was there...Fran Fraschilla!

Just another beautiful and lucky Fall day in Lawrence Kansas and we had front row seats! Gonna be a great year! Rock Chalk! :)

You're welcome Port!

We were actually there commemorating what would have been my sister's husband Gene's birthday...Memorable occasion on Mass Street ...and the food really was excellent! ...fresh homemade ingredients, well prepared, nice portions, and delicious!

After Coach Self and the guys left there was also a small fire in a trash barrel on the corner across the street...and we got to watch locals and the Fire Dept deal with it....the Chef at Ingredients was actually the Hero who raced out and over with a couple of pitchers of water to dowse the flames before the FD even got there....

My sister said that Gene must have been Up There providing the entertainment!

Rock Chalk! :)
