Since 1949 25 teams have been ranked No.1 pre-season. Believe it or not, KU has only been the pre-season No. 1 3 times. 6 schools have been No. 1 more than KU.
North Carolina - 10
UCLA - 8
Duke - 7
Kentucky - 6
Cincy - 4
Indiana - 4
Two other schools have been No. 1 3 times.
Arizona and Michigan.
Duke is about to tie UCLA. But it is not where you start but where you finish. My money is on KU finishing No.1 this season.
