Best of luck to both Larry and Tim.

ESPN's Dana O'Neil with a harsh piece about Brown. As for the violations at KU that she labeled "egregious," I thought it was based on buying a recruit a plane ticket so he could go to a funeral.

She should relook her history before opening her mouth and inserting both feet. The "egregious" violations were with the football program. Problem was that the hoops program violation for buying Vince Askew (who never even enrolled at KU, so no advantage gained) a ticket home to Memphis for his grandmother (which was still considered a violation back then, wouldn't be today) occurred at roughly the same time the NCAA was hammering the FB program, so the infamous "lack of institutional control" assessment was in play. If it had happened all by itself KUhoops might have skated on it, but it was the proverbial last straw. And since back then the NCAA was headquartered in Overland Park, and they wanted no whiff of leniency because of the proximity of KU, they lowered the boom.

Thanks for the clarification, HE. Didn't realize about the violations to the FB program.
