"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"
Just announced on Rivals by Wildeboor.

“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
1936 inscription on the portrait of Dr. Naismith, displayed above Phog Allen's office desk at KU.
Great to hear! Love the kid...
I was pretty confident on this one, but there's always that outside chance.
We're in good shape with our "core." Now it's time to just fill out our depth and maybe find a backup or developmental PG.

Reporting from there. Can't get a much better source.
Also noted that Self said Bragg was 6-10, so the lad's grown a bit.

This was again expected but still great news! I still wish we could land one more big. Wish Diallo were returning but it sounds like he's gone. While I'm hoping, I'd also love to see us land Duke PG transfer - Derrick Thornton for Mason's spot next year and another big for this year. The only high school bigs that seem that they could contribute this year are Bolden and Jarrett Allen. Is there anyone else - beside a probably NBA bound Thon Maker? It will be curious to see.

I agree that we could really use one more impact big to help spell Bragg, in case Az and/or Lightfoot are the type of players that won't have a major impact until year 2. (Az, though, looks like the beefy type that would be more likely to spell Lucas)
Don't forget that we also will get the services of 6'9/240 transfer (2014-15) Dwight Coleby. While it's true that he'll need until summer to recover from his ACL tear, Coach Self said he was coming along nicely and has some definite upside. We shall see.
I'd still love to land Bolden or (Jarrett) Allen, but the former is a heavy lean to Puke or ConTucky, while the latter is a heavy lean toward either UT or Houston. I'm hoping that we make a major push with Jarrett and convince him that KU/AFH is a much better landing spot (for his profile, development, winning culture, and NC prospects) than those other two places. Here's the latest I've seen on him (and not that recent):

It'll be interesting to see how it all unfolds...
