"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain "Innocents Abroad"

Agree, Bay!

You know how each generation has "formative experiences?" (Great Depression, WWII, Vietnam, Moon Landing, 911, etc)

Well, in my time as a sports fan, that would be one of my utmost "formative photos," marking the greatest experience I've had as a fan. Just a tad greater for me than '88, the Royals last year, and the Chiefs' Super Bowl win back in '70 (when I was a pup).

It's my favorite sports photo of all time, bar none.

Thanks, HE, for the nice reminder!

“With kindest regards to Dr. Forrest C. Allen, the father of basketball coaching, from the father of the game.”
