Seeing the game tonight made me wonder just how good was our team? That's what may be the most frustrating for me right now. We played a HORRIBLE game and were down two with 30+ seconds to go. So we very well could have beaten a very good Villanova team had that call not happened against Graham. AND WE STUNK THAT GAME....
Really makes me wonder just how good our team was this year. OU was crushed...they were never in it at all. We had sub par performances from several key players and still had a chance to win...we were good folks. REAL GOOD!

Yes we were.
Let's hope Nova has an encore performance Monday night, clobbering whichever team makes the game. Will be a little -- not much but some -- solace.

My thoughts, exactly. Was anyone else able to hold them below 50% from the field?

i wish Perry Jamari and Bob had gotten to Houston, that frustrates. But proud of our guys, they were tough as nails, evidence of almost pulling out that game last week, and they are pure class, evidence how they handled themselves after having their season end abruptly. The sad part is never getting see this team play again.

Speaking just for me, I didn't only think we were "good," I thought we were the best team in the country. That's why not being in Houston tonight, and seeing the two teams that are advancing do so is super frustrating. Excruciating, actually. Because these kinds of opportunities don't come along every day, and when they present themselves, you have to bust through the door. We didn't, and that sucks. And hurts. Still. And it will (for me) along with so many other "close but no cigar" opportunities for KU. So often the bridesmaid, so very infrequently the bride. It saddens me and I'm now back to being full-bore pissed off about it (back to stage one).
Unfortunately, saying we were good (because the team that beat us advanced) is only a half-bore solace to KU fans. It means zilch to other fans, to national commentators, to observers of the game outside the Flock. And our season will be treated as little more than a footnote in the history books as a result. Sad but factual, I'm afraid.
As for Monday, if there is ANY ounce of integrity, fairness, and authenticity left in this game, the basketball gods will see to it that Huckleberry Hound and the Fraudsters (no, not a 60s backup band for the Archies) will get schooled--nay, embarrassed--by the Villanova Wildcats. I'm all in on the latter with every fiber of my being now. I cannot fathom the thought of Roy and UNC with THREE national titles since Self has taken over--two of them completely tainted by rosters full of academically ineligible players. Here's to them getting crushed (or merely their hearts ripped out) Monday, then having the NCAA grow a pair and come down with a crippling death penalty (including stripping them of titles and many wins) in the aftermath.
Rock Chalk...
