Just felt like posting this.
I have more to say about the game and season, but I'm still letting all my emotions stew a bit (along with having lots of tests to grade). I plan to write more at some point during the week.

Without too strongly overstating it, it was a BS call and the explanation was in the same category, BS to cover what should have been a no call. The only foul committed on that play was done by the Nova player that hacked DG on the right arm to slow him up as he went for the LOOSE (read: not in anyone's possession) ball. The refs covering each other to the max once the call was made.

Well said. No one talks about when Graham's arm was hit. And the ball was definitely loose. Frustrating. It wasn't the reason we lost, but it happened at a key point to affect the outcome. If only someone could have hit one more three along the way.......

There were 2 other fouls called on Devonte that I thought were even worse. It reminded me so much of the tournament loss with the Morii when The other teams post players was playing well and had a spin move he liked Markief anticipated it got in position the other player moves right into him and he got called for the foul. Just a terrible call and I believe the difference in that game. Would we have won if the zebras had treated Mr. Graham fairly? I do not know but it definitely would have been better for us.

RKCKJHK!!!
Worst part about the call to me was the penalizing of a player who was clearly going after the ball. What should he have done? Watched it roll out of bounds? If he had no real play on the ball and took the kids legs out then yeah I guess thats a foul. But his hand was on the ball when he impacted the other player. Just sends a crappy message IMHO.

My problem with this call is similar to everyone else I think. ALL THE TIME you see players dive on other players when the ball is loose. A jump ball is called and that's that. I've NEVER seen a call like that. Especially at such a critical point in a game and a game of that magnitude. Someone pointed out how do you "maintain control" of a "loose" ball? That doesn't even make sense. That's like organized chaos...it's not possible in my opinion.
I'll let it go though. All of it. Because otherwise it could fester for years and I might lose some years off my life. HAHA...either way. It was a bad call. We had other chances to win that game but it was as critical to me as the charge call on Langford in the '03 championship when we were making a run.
BUT I don't see much mention of Frank getting slapped around on the last play we had the ball either. Did anyone think that was a foul? I did. Unless hitting a players arms to get the ball away from them is allowed now.
